From early January 2026, all applications for long service leave benefits must include a valid form of photographic ID.

NT Build has refreshed and updated its publications/forms to improve usability and access to information.
These updates ensure information provided supports the construction industry.

July - Dec 2025 Returns Due
The return for the period Jul - Dec 2025 has now been issued.

2025 CHRISTMAS SHUTDOWN
The NT Build office will be closed from Thursday 25 December 2025 to Thursday 1 January 2026. Business as usual from Friday 2 January 2026. Please submit your claims by 28 November 2025 to ensure all claims, inclusive of interstate service are paid prior to Christmas

Our NT Build Field Officers will be visiting Nhulunbuy, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Groote Eylandt and Katherine in May 2025.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION – EMPLOYERS
All new and existing employers who are registered with NT Build (portable long service leave scheme for construction workers), it is important that when a new employee starts with your company/business, that you provide the employee with a NT Build worker registration form for the employee to complete.

2024-25 benefit rate
The NT Build board have determined the benefit rate from 1 July 2024 to be $1,518.00 gross per week.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION – CLAIMS AND KEEPING YOUR DETAILS UP TO DATE
If you are or have been registered with NT Build (portable long service leave scheme for construction workers), it is important that you:
- regularly update your contact details if they have changed (so NT Build can contact you); and
- check to see if you are entitled to make a long service leave benefit claim by contacting NT Build.

Changes to levy assessment for major projects
On 13 September 2022, amendments to section 33 of the Construction Industry Long Service Leave and Benefits Act commenced.
